July TBR

july, july tbr, to be read, book review, book reviewer, book blog, book blogger, blog, blogger, reviewer, reviews, book, books

Can you believe we’re in July already? It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that we’re in the second half of 2018 now. It’s quite scary how fast this year has gone. Even though I’ve had a really productive six months, I still feel as though I have so much left to do this year and wondering if I can really fit it in to the next six months. This includes all the books I want to read. I’m so impatient that I want to have read them all already. Anyone else feel like that?

July is shaping up to be an incredibly busy month for me and so reading five books might be a bit of a stretch since I only managed three last month. I have a week off from work starting from the 16th July, which just so happens to be my 24th birthday (eek!). Who knows, I might get a chance to cram most of my reading into that week.

CARAVAL by Stephanie Garber

I’m really excited to start reading this; it’s my most anticipated read of the month, if not the year. I’ve seen so many positive reviews about it and it’s filling up my Instagram feed. I have such high hopes for this book, although I’m really hoping that I’m not building it up to too high a standard that I end up disappointed as a result. I’ve seen so many people give the sequel to this, Legendary, five star reviews and it’s made me more excited to get my hands on this book.

ELEANOR & PARK by Rainbow Rowell

Rainbow Rowell is an author whose name keeps popping up, especially the book Eleanor & Park. It’s been on my TBR list for quite some time now but I’ve just never picked it up (I’m on a book buying ban for this month as I save up for my holiday next May). Luckily for me, I saw it in my local library and didn’t hesitate to check it out and check it off my ever expanding TBR list!

THE LOVELY BONES by Alice Sebold

As I’m writing this, I’m reeling from the ending. Yes, I’ve already managed to finish it. I was close to halfway through the book by the time July began and have spent every night of the month so far reading a couple of chapters to finish it. I enjoyed the book more at the beginning – once I was over the halfway mark, I began to feel as though the story wasn’t progressing. A full review of this will be up soon!

FINAL GIRLS by Riley Sager

I don’t know much about this book. It came up as a recommendation on Goodreads. I read the synopsis and I was instantly hooked. It’s one of those books that I just have to read. I usually prefer to read YA and fantasy novels and very rarely read thrillers/horrors, which is surprising because I’m going back to education to study criminology (and psychology). Who knows, this might be the one book that turns me onto those genres.

THRONE OF GLASS by Sarah J. Maas

I know, you must be thinking how have I not read this series yet? I had a reading hiatus that lasted several years – real life got in the way and I honestly had no time for reading, and as a result I’ve completely missed out on a large amount of book series’, including the Throne of Glass series and A Court of Thorns and Roses, both by Sarah J. Maas. I’ve only heard incredibly positive things about her books so I’m really excited to get stuck into this one.

I have no idea how I’m going to decide which book I want to read first. I’m quite excited about this TBR. It’s been a long time coming. Have you read these yet? Do you have a favourite? And, lastly, what’s on your July TBR?

    1. I’ve heard so many good things about Eleanor & Park and I’m excited to get stuck into it. I think it’s going to be my next read after Caraval, which I started the other day and is so good – I’d definitely recommend! I liked The Lovely Bones, especially Lindsey, but there was something about the ending that bugged me.

  1. I really enjoyed the Lovely Bones, it was a different perspective. I have not yet read the others, but I think I have to add them to my TBR list. 🙂

    1. That is one of the things I did enjoy about it – it made the book quite unique. I’m reading Caraval at the moment. I’m thoroughly enjoying it, and you should definitely add it to your TBR! 😊
