RECEIVED AN ARC AND NOT REVIEWED IT

house, gregory house, greg house, dr gregory house, dr greg house, dr house, doctor house, oops

I’ve read and reviewed all the ARCs I’ve received directly from publishers and authors, YAAAAAAY! But I’m super behind on all the ARCs I’ve received through NetGalley. I blame my schedule – I’m honestly surprised I’ve had time for sleeping and eating, let alone reading! I’m hoping to get through the rest of them over the Christmas break.

HAVE LESS THAN A 60% RATING ON NETGALLEY

I’m on… *hides*… 50%. It’s actually not as bad as I thought it would be, haha. Only 10% extra and I would have been nice!

RATED A BOOK ON GOODREADS AND PROMISED A FULL REVIEW WAS TO COME ON YOUR BLOG AND NEVER DID

Yay, one I’m not guilty of… yet! I actually finished The Cruel Prince last night and, for the first time, made a comment on Goodreads when I rated it, where I’ve promised a review is to come. I’m going to say, for now, that a review is most definitely on the way. It’s The Cruel Prince, I HAVE to review it… once I’ve collected my thoughts.

Cardan, though 😍

FOLDED DOWN THE PAGE OF A BOOK

I was a serial page folder when I was a kid. Now I’m too protective over my books to bring myself to do it. I will use anything and everything as a bookmark instead of folding the page. So far, I’ve used a KitKat wrapper, a receipt, and a shop tag as a bookmark.

ACCIDENTALLY SPILLED ON A BOOK

For someone who is a total klutz, I haven’t ever done this. I’m pretty proud of myself!

DNF’D A BOOK THIS YEAR

This was one I honestly thought wouldn’t include me on the naughty list but it has. I NEVER DNF a book if I can help it – I actually enjoy reading badly written or underdeveloped books, it’s kinda like a guilty pleasure because I get such a laugh from it. ButΒ not this time! I DNF’d my first book recently because it made me so angry. It was an ARC from NetGalley that sounded so promising but was such a disappointment that I couldn’t even finish the first chapter.

BOUGHT A BOOK PURELY BECAUSE IT WAS PRETTY WITH NO INTENTION OF READING IT

I have never, ever done this! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve wanted to, but I always stop myself because if it’s not good enough for me to read it then, no matter how pretty it is, it doesn’t deserve to be on the shelf!

READ WHILST YOU WERE MEANT TO BE DOING SOMETHING ELSE (LIKE HOMEWORK)

I do this ALL the time at work!

SKIM READ A BOOK

This is one of my worst reading habits but I’m not even sorryΒ πŸ˜‚

COMPLETELY MISSED YOUR GOODREADS GOAL

This is the first year I’m using Goodreads and I’m only one book away from my goal, which is admittedly quite low since my years-long reading slump didn’t end until the middle of 2018. I’m one book away so I’m pretty sure I’m going to do it so I’m prematurely giving myself a point towards the nice list with this one! If you’ve seen my TBR for this month then you’ll know there’s NO WAY AT ALL I’m going to let myself fail my Goodreads goal.

BORROWED A BOOK FROM THE LIBRARY AND NOT RETURNED IT

I’ve currently got a copy of Strange the Dreamer borrowed from the library and it’s a month overdue… It’s the first time I’ve been late with a library book since I started using it this year. In my defence, I’m going to buy the book from them since it’s been signed by Laini Taylor, although the library doesn’t know that yetΒ πŸ˜‚

BROKE A BOOK BUYING BAN

I ALMOST did this today! I saw ACOMAF and ACOWAR for Β£7 in Asda for both of them today and I was so tempted to buy them because what a bargain that is! Just a couple more weeks to go until my ban is over, I can do this!

STARTED A REVIEW, LEFT IT FOR AGES, THEN FORGOT WHAT THE BOOK WAS ABOUT

THIS IS DEFINITELY ME

WROTE IN A BOOK YOU WERE READING

I have never, ever done this, not even when I was in school!

FINISHED A BOOK AND NOT ADDED IT TO YOUR GOODREADS

I only started using Goodreads this year and haven’t been bothered to add all the books I read before starting my account on there. I put a few of them in but got bored and haven’t bothered to finish the rest yetΒ πŸ˜‚

BORROWED A BOOK AND NOT RETURNED IT TO A FRIEND

None of my friends read the same kind of books as me and so I’ve never felt the need to borrow any.

DODGED SOMEONE ASKING IF THEY CAN BORROW A BOOK

My sister asked me recently if my six-year-old niece could borrow one of my copies of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and I just couldn’t bring myself to let her borrow any of them. My niece is the absolute light of my life and one of my best friends. I would quite literally give her the clothes off my back if she needed them, but borrowing my books? Nope. She’s a page bender. And almost always has sticky hands. I bought her the first two books in the series instead.

BROKE THE SPINE OF SOMEONE ELSE’S BOOK

I’ve never borrowed a book from a friend so I’ve never had this problem before.

TOOK THE JACKET OFF A BOOK AND ENDED UP MAKING IT MORE DAMAGED

I take dust jackets off all the time when I get hardbacks but I’ve never damaged the jacket or the book!

SAT ON A BOOK ACCIDENTALLY

I’ve done this a lot, especially in the past. Not so much recently. Luckily none of my books have ever been damaged from it!

rhett and link, rhett mclaughlin, rhett, good mythical morning, gmm

The answers have been counted and the results are in…

11/20

I’M ON THE

LIST

WHERE DID YOU END UP?

I’m supposed to tag 10 of you to do this Naughty or Nice tag but I’m not going to tag anyone individually, mostly because I’ve lost track of who has done it and who hasn’t. If you’ve not done it but want to then consider yourself tagged by me! If you do it or have done it, link me to your posts, I’m absolutely loving reading everyone’s answers to this!

Hahahaha I’m exactly the same with goodreads! The thought of having to put in every book I’ve read just puts me off πŸ˜‚ Well done for not breaking your book buying ban! Mine never seem to last long πŸ˜‚ I was a serial page folder too when I was young but can’t bring myself to do it now, I love a good bookmark too much!

It’s just such a long task and I keep saying I’m going to catch up with it but I never do πŸ˜‚ aha, thank you! I’m pretty proud of myself that I managed it. I’m so glad my Christmas shopping is over so now I’m too broke to buy anything so this whole not-buying-books thing is going pretty well πŸ˜‚

Loved reading your answers, Kelly! I completely agree with you about buying a book with no intention of reading it – I just couldn’t do that!

Thank you! I know, right?! I don’t understand how people can do it, I haven’t read everything on my bookshelves but I have every intention of doing it haha

HA! I do EXACTLY the same thing re: dodging people wanting to borrow my books – buy them their own copies instead! Everyone who’s asked to borrow a book of mine over the course of 2018 is getting that book for Christmas πŸ˜‚β€οΈ I see it as a win-win-win: they get a book to keep, I don’t have to worry about my copy getting ruined, and my local bookstore gets a sale πŸ‘πŸΌ

That’s a really great idea haha! I’m going to have to do that in 2019 when people ask me to borrow a book πŸ˜‚
